Restaurant Report Card: Wash your hands!

Apparently, there's a big problem with handwashing at Jack in the Box at 7725 Pineville-Matthews Road.

Some popular fast food restaurants have some eyebrow-raising violations in this week's Restaurant Report Card.

Apparently, there's a big problem with handwashing at Jack in the Box at 7725 Pineville-Matthews Road. The health inspection revealed one employee showed up and immediately started making food without washing.

Inspectors said another employee was eating while making food for customers, and some of the lettuce on the food prep line was too warm. Their grade: 90, a very low "A."

At Zinicola on Ballantyne Village Way, handwashing was an issue, too. The health inspection stated several employees were bare hand prepping the ready-to-eat veggies and fresh fruit, which is never allowed.

Multiple slicers were also found to be dirty and some of the silverware greasy. Their grade: 90, a very low "A."

At Little Caesars Pizza on Beatties Ford Road, inspectors found stacks of pans and dishes with grease and food on them, sitting on top of clean ones.

The pizza oven was in need of cleaning, and so was the rest of the kitchen. The bathroom doors were also left open. Their grade: 91.5, a very low "A."
