HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Hear ye, hear ye! The Carolina Renaissance Festival is coming soon, and they need your help.
If you've been to the Renaissance Festival, then you know it's a trip back in time to 16th century Europe in the village of Fairhaven. But the renaissance festival doesn't happen on its own, it takes characters of all types.
"We need people all the time and we would like you and everyone else to audition," said Lord Mayor John Bullfrog (his name's actually Michael Stewart, but we're staying in character here).
What better way to find out if we could make the cut than by having Hannah Welker audition for a role in the festival. So she grabbed a slip of paper and delivered her best soliloquy from Shakespeare's "Hamlet." Hannah then mounted her noble steed, raised her sword and charged into battle.
Thankfully, she got the part! And so can you, as long as you have a few qualities on display during your audition.
"We're looking for several different things," said one of the festival's organizers. "If you have some confidence, if you have clarify, if you have good diction, you do need to follow directions."
Auditions for the Carolina Renaissance Festival are June 22 and 29 at the Cannon School in Concord. Click here for more information.
