Man hurt in shooting near southeast Charlotte

One person was transported to the hospital after suffering from a gunshot wound.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating a shooting near the Cotswold neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.

CMPD officers responded to a call of a shooting little after 1 p.m. in the 700 block of Beal Street. Officers at the scene found a person with an apparent gunshot wound.

According to CMPD, the victim's car and a shooting suspect's car were stopped next to each other and at one point, someone from the suspect vehicle opened fire at the victim.

The person was transported to CMC Main with minor injuries.

Crime scene investigators also responded to process the scene. CMPD has not released the identity of the victim.

Officials did not say if any charges have been made.
