CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A pair of dangerous incidents just days apart targeted drivers in their cars in Charlotte.
Around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, the driver of an 18-wheeler called 911 about an object thrown at the windshield, shattering it. Police say a second vehicle was damaged after striking the object in the road.
Both drivers were okay, but the police report showed the object caused $600 in damage. No arrest had been made as of 5 p.m. Thursday. This was on I-485 off the Dixie River Road overpass.
Just days earlier, a bullet hit a man in the face while he was driving on I-85. His cheekbone was shattered, but he’s expected to survive.
“Basically, a miracle that he survived,” a family member told NBC Charlotte.
Last spring, three drivers were targeted in three days with objects thrown at them on the same stretch of I-85.
“Hit the windshield, I almost wrecked on the highway,” said one driver.
Police said the cases are being investigated.
