CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former Texas congressman and 2020 presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke stopped in Charlotte Monday for a meet and greet with supporters outside CPCC near uptown.
"North Carolina is an incredibly important state," O'Rourke said. "I don’t have any hope of winning it on Super Tuesday, or serving it as President if I don't show up and listen."
North Carolina’s presidential primary in 2020 is earlier in the election cycle than in previous years.
That gives the state potentially more of a say in who wins the Democratic party nomination.
After Charlotte, O’Rourke had planned to make stops in Greensboro and Chapel Hill.
