Franklin Graham defends Senate candidate Roy Moore

Franklin Graham defended Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, comparing allegations of sexual misconduct to former President Bill Clinton.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Franklin Graham defended controversial Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore Tuesday, comparing Moore to former President Bill Clinton.

Speaking in Charlotte after taking part in the annual Samaritan’s Purse Shoebox Celebration, Graham said many in Washington are guilty of doing things worse than Moore who is facing accusations of sexual impropriety from nine women, one of whom was 14 at the time.

“Want to go back to Bill Clinton and what he did with Monica Lewinski? Come on,” Graham said.

Graham took to Twitter last week saying to critics of Moore, “Shame on those hypocrites.”

Graham said he knows Moore and wants the process to be fair for him.

“He takes a very strong stand on issues that are very close to many evangelicals,” said Graham.

Graham wrote on Facebook that he has spoken with Moore and said Moore has denied the allegations being made against him.

"None of us are without sin," Graham said. "We are all guilty."
