ANSON COUNTY, N.C. -- Governor Roy Cooper announced Wednesday the state of North Carolina is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in the murder of Wallace Sturdivant.

The 60-year-old was shot and killed on June 6, 2017 near the Wadesboro Discount Grocery on Salisbury Street. 52-year-old Charles Rivers was also shot. He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center-Main Hospital in Charlotte and survived.

Mary Little told NBC Charlotte Sturdivant, the father of her daughter, was murdered after getting caught in crossfire of a shootout.

Sturdivant was the father of two daughters and had four grandchildren. Family members said he walked with a cane and was battling kidney failure.
