LENOIR, N.C. -- Four people, including two children, were injured in a head-on collision in Lenoir Wednesday morning.
Around 9:30, first responders were called to the 2700 block of Ellerwood Road for a two-vehicle crash.
Lenoir Police believe 59-year-old Fredrick Robert Motley drove his 2008 Chevy Impala across the center line and crashed into a 2003 Chevy pickup truck, driven by 30-year-old Emily Danielle Davis, head-on.
First responders worked for more than an hour-and-a-half to free Davis and Motley from their vehicles. They were both airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte; their conditions are not known at this time.
Two children, 7-year-old Lesleigh Carolina Rangel and 1-year-old Moises Julian Maldonado, who were passengers inside Davis' truck, were both taken to Caldwell UNC Healthcare by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
