Wooden statue of Bigfoot prompts 911 calls in NC

MOCKSVILLE, North Carolina —

In Davie County, the buzz isn't about Bird Box anymore. Everyone is talking about Big Foot.

"I've always thought that there was something in them woods," said Trina DeHeart. "I thought, oh my gosh!"

"You never know what's really out there," said Anthony DeHeart.

Sasquatch is still undefeated when it comes to playing hide and seek, but if you're driving along Pine Ridge Road, you may have to do a double take.

"I was like, what in the world is going on back there?" said a Davie County resident.

"Kind of like doing this number looking over there, like wait a minute, am I seeing what I'm seeing?" said Anthony.

On Facebook, the Davie County Animal Shelter sending out a warning advising drivers that the eyes appear to glow on the massive sculpture and if they spot it to not call animal control.

"They stopping, slowing down, some will go up the road and turn around," said Anthony.

"Is it kind of creepy?" asked NBC Charlotte's Xavier Walton.

"It kind of is," said Trina. "It is wild looking."

The monster, wooden statue is holding a big stick and has piercing red eyes. Trina said as a neighbor he's a little stiff and doesn't say much. Some still are in disbelief.

"People are just saying, no, no, and I say, well, come over here and look," said Trina.
