Two players from South Carolina will be picked in the first round of the NBA Draft.
And a third could join them.
Greenville native Nicolas Claxton (Georgia) received a last-minute invite to Thursday night's draft in Brooklyn.
There he will join Spartanburg's Zion Williamson (Duke) and Sumter's Ja Morant (Murray State), who are expected to be selected No. 1 and No. 2 by the Pelicans, and Grizzlies, respectively.
"It's a lot to us," said Williamson. "For me, Ja and Nicolas Claxton, I think we represent South Carolina very well. South Carolina has had our back through it all since Day One. For all three of us to get drafted, we'll represent South Carolina."
Added Morant: "That's everybody in South Carolina's dream is to make a name for themselves. And also put the state on. Because we' feel we're very underrated. Not only in sports, but in other things."
In addition, Charlotte native Grant Williams (Tennessee) is slated to be selected Thursday night as well.
