Charlotte Checkers advance to Calder Cup Finals

This is the first time in franchise history that the team is advancing to the Calder Cup Finals.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Checkers defeated the Toronto Marlies 4-3 in double overtime at Bojangles’ Coliseum Sunday night, winning the Eastern Conference Finals in six games.

The Checkers will now advance to the Calder Cup Finals for the first time in franchise history. 

The Checkers announced the dates and times for the Calder Cup Finals home games. Game 1 will be on Saturday, June 1 at 6 p.m. at Bojangles’ Coliseum. Game 2 will be the next day, June 2 at 6 p.m. also at Bojangles’ Coliseum. 

If Game 6 is necessary, it'll take place Thursday, June 13 at 7 p.m. at Bojangles’ Coliseum and likewise, if Game 7 is necessary it'll take place June 14 at 7 p.m. at Bojangles’ Coliseum. 

Tickets for the games will go on sale via Ticketmaster and the Bojangles’ Coliseum box office May 28 at 10 a.m.
