Who wins Super Bowl 55? Locked On makes their predictions

Will the Chiefs vault themselves into the all-time great team conversation on Super Bowl Sunday, or does Tom Brady prove that he can do it outside of New England?

We’ve broken down positions, we’ve looked at coaching staffs, we’ve found the under-the-radar players for both teams, and now all that is left is to predict a winner. Do the Chiefs vault themselves into the all-time great team conversation, or does Tom Brady prove that he can do it outside of New England?

“The first team to 40 wins this Super Bowl. I have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coming out victorious at home 42-38,” David Harrison of the Locked On Bucs podcast said for his prediction.

A 42-38 win for the Bucs would mean a total of 80 points. Over the last 16 Super Bowls, the participants have scored a combined average of just 49.7 points. For Tom Brady, in 9 Super Bowl appearances he’s averaged 24.6 points, with the highest being the 34 points the Patriots scored against the Falcons in Super Bowl LI. That was with a different team though, and the Bucs have gone over 40 points four times this season.

“In my mind, it doesn’t end up going that well for the Bucs, I am taking the Chiefs in what is a mild shoot-out 34-31,” Ryan Tracy of the Locked On Chiefs podcast said he doesn’t think Tampa Bay defensive coordinator, Todd Bowles, will be able to slow down the Chiefs offense enough to give the Bucs the edge.

This isn’t an indictment against Todd Bowles, there hasn’t been much success in stopping this Kansas City Chiefs offense. The Chiefs averaged 29.5 points per game this season.

We’ll have to wait until Sunday to find out who will win the Super Bowl, but in the meantime set those menus, order those wings, and pop some popcorn because this is setting up to be a great game.
