CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A crash involving multiple cars shut down part of Interstate 85 in Charlotte late Saturday afternoon.
The Charlotte Fire Department tweeted out initial details about the crash just after 4:10 p.m. The crash happened near the exit to Statesville Avenue, causing significant delays.
NCDOT later confirmed one lane had shut down, with a high impact on the flow of traffic. The scene cleared shortly after 5 p.m.
Medic confirmed they were on scene as well, and eventually took six patients to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Alternate routes were advised.
