UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Union County highway patrol is investigating a deadly crash that happened just after 6 a.m. Sunday morning.

The crash happened on highway 74 in Stallings, near the Monroe bypass exit towards Rockingham.

Officials have confirmed one person dead after their car crashed into a ditch.

Highway patrol is working to see what caused the crash and if wet roads may have played a role.

No further information has been released regarding the accident.
