This evening comes with the potential for scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. This is all associated with an approaching frontal boundary and storms fueling off the unstable environment in place. This front will continue to drop into the area overnight tonight through tomorrow morning. This is going to cool things down big time for the weekend!
Saturday comes with hit and miss rain showers and the feeling like it is going to rain all day. Likely overcast skies with stay with us both Saturday and Sunday. Outside of some filtered sunshine, it is not looking to be a pretty weekend. Highs will stick to the low to mid 70's on Saturday and Sunday. Both days come with chances for rain and drizzle but it will not be an all-day event.
The upper 70's are on tap on Monday with a slight chance for a pop up shower but it should be sunnier. The front that brought us clouds and rain will be further south of us and will also be a blocking mechanism for a developing topical system.
There is likely a chance a tropical disturbance near Florida will become our 4th Tropical Depression of the year over the weekend and even become a Tropical Storm off the Carolina Coast. This is trending away from the Carolinas so the heavy rain as of now is the main concern with some stray gusty winds. There will be a Hurricane Hunters aircraft flown on Saturday, if necessary!
