Above-average warmth continues with a few storms Friday

More rain chances with cooler temperatures arrive as we head into the weekend.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Tonight

Unseasonably warm temperatures hit their peak Thursday with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees. Lows only fall to the upper 50s and low 60s.

Friday

No break in the warmth on Friday even as rain returns to the region! Highs will range in the mid 80s.

A few showers and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon. Some could become strong to severe with the highest risk gusty winds.

Weekend Forecast

Saturday will be the last day of the week with above-average temperatures. Highs will be in the upper 70s to near 80. There's also a chance of showers and a few thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

Sunday will be cloudy and cool day with scattered showers. Highs will only be in the mid 60s. Showers are also possible Sunday night into early Monday morning.

Pollen Report

The pollen count continues to be very high across the region.  Tree pollen is the main cause of high pollen levels for mid-April before these numbers eventually taper off by mid-late May.
