CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Welcome to a wonderful evening! It will be gorgeous outside and lows will only fall into the low to mid 60's (so a slightly warmer start than this morning). Tomorrow will be another picture-perfect day but it will be hot for this time of year! Highs will be 1-3° warmer than today in the upper 80's (we hit 87° in Charlotte). Some could even challenge 90°.
On Monday we can officially call it Autumn as of 3:50 AM. Highs will have a chance of hitting 90° again for the 75th time this year in Charlotte. There are also several other chances for around 90°+ later on that 7-day forecast! We will have another sunny day on tap but clouds look to increase along a cold front that will dry out, stripping us of any rain for the Charlotte area! This means that yes... we may be rain-free for another week. We have only had one day in September that it has rained!
The first days of fall look to be dry, sunny to mostly sunny and with highs ranging from the upper 80's to the low 90's.
Tracking the Tropics:
Jerry is now a Tropical Storm. It will likely still impact Bermuda for 12-24 hours by mid week as a borderline strong tropical storm to a weak category 1 hurricane. Next up on the list for storm names are Karen and Lorenzo... who could be named here in the next 5 days.
Up next we have two tropical waves that will likely become Tropical Depressions near the end of the weekend and the beginning of next week. It is too far out to see if they will impact the U.S. so they will be monitored closely over the next 7 days.
INVEST 99-L above will likely develop in the orange development zone and curve NW and then N. This will follow a similar departure to the curve that Humberto and Jerry took in the middle of the Atlantic!
Since conditions are prime time off of the coast of Africa... I am anticipation that this one will have the best chance to become a stronger storm and should be watched especially close. This could become a hurricane by the middle of next week.
Have a wonderful day!
