The Humane Society of Charlotte received a special delivery on Monday evening.
The organization took in almost 40 dogs, including 10 puppies, from a shelter in Robeson County.
Excessive rains from Florence flooded the shelter and forced the staff and pets to leave.
The humane society said they are doing everything they can to help shelters in the flooded zones.
