CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Hurricane Florence's devastation is being felt across the Carolinas after the deadly storm left catastrophic flooding and forced millions of people to evacuate.

With some parts of North Carolina receiving more than 30 inches of rainfall and historic flooding due to rising rivers, the recovery process will be long and arduous. That's why Visit North Carolina has partnered with Discover South Carolina to launch #CAREolinas as an information hub for hurricane recovery to bring Carolinians closer together.

The Carolina Panthers and head coach Ron Rivera are also joining the recovery efforts. Rivera debuted the #CAREolinas shirt during his Monday press conference. The shirts are gray and feature an outline of both Carolinas. The state line is formed by text that says "we share more than a state line."

"I think it's important that everybody understands that we most certainly do care about our folks in the Carolinas, our fanbase, the people here in this community," Rivera said. "We want to do whatever we can to help support them in this recovery effort.

"We want to do our part."

More than 600 of the shirts have been sold. They're available online for $20 and will be offered for a limited time. All proceeds will go directly to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund and One SC Fund to aid in hurricane recovery efforts. There is also a #CAREolinas Facebook group.
