VIDEO: Florence floods the Charlotte area

Flash floods were rampant across the Charlotte area Sunday morning as Florence dumped heavy rain on the region. The threat for flooding will remain through Monday.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Flash Flood Warnings have been issued for several counties in the Charlotte area as heavy rain from Tropical Depression Florence has settled in the region Sunday morning.

Chief Meteorologist Brad Panovich said the threat for flash flooding will remain very high throughout Sunday night and into Monday for the entire Charlotte area and mountains of western North Carolina. Some locations could see an additional five inches of rain from the downpours Sunday morning and afternoon.
