ATLANTA — QUICK FORECAST:
Wednesday: Scattered showers early, then clearing. High: 78
Thursday: Sunny, breezy and nice! High of 75.
Friday: Plenty of sun. Cool morning with an afternoon high of 76.
Some relief is on the way!
Wednesday a cold front will sweep through bringing in one more round of showers. Expect scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms through the early afternoon.
Notice how the temperature in north and west Georgia will be cooling during the afternoon while it stays warm and humid ahead of the front.
That frontal system will usher in the drier air the first day of fall.
So one more day of rain and then drier air through the weekend and into next week!
We not only see the rain chances disappear Thursday, but the relative humidity levels go down as well.
In the tropics, things remain active. Tropical depression Peter continues to move through the Atlantic just north of the Leeward Islands. It is expected to curve away from the US coast.
Rose is also downgraded to a tropical depression. It will also stay out to sea.
More to watch in the tropics. The system that was Odette now has a slim chance of reforming well off the east coast. And a disturbance off the coast of Africa now has an 90% chance of developing into a name system within the next 5 days.
The next name on the list is Sam.
