CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Welcome everyone to another week of February weather. February LOVES to have temperature swings and that is the plan for this week. Our highs will range from the upper 40's to the mid 60's. We also have 3 rounds of rain possible.
BUT break it down a little more simplistically... here are your "Weekly Weather Superlatives."
The Wettest Day: Monday
CLOSE RUNNER UP: Friday
This is honestly the toughest day to call because a day 5-7 on the forecast can surprise you sometimes and that is why we had to mention Friday as a contender to own the title. Both setups will bring widespread rain likely 0.25-0.5". Monday will be a very wet day with scattered rain that turns widespread into the afternoon. This will be a quick moving system which will limit the rainfall. Monday will end with clearing skies behind the front.
The Sunniest Day: Tuesday
Similar runner-up: Wednesday
YES! A couple more days of sunshine. The passing cold front bringing Monday's rain is trading some very dry air which is ideal for sunshine. ALSO a high pressure system will add to the clearing. Tuesday should have wall to wall sunshine. Wednesday will also be sunny to mostly sunny.
The Warmest Day: Wednesday
We are back in the 60's starting on Tuesday BUT the winds should be stronger out of the southwest which drives in the warmest air. Tuesday through Thursday will be at 60°+ but I think this day will reach the mid 60's and maybe every higher depending on how strong the supporting winds are.

The Pick of the Week (The Best Day): Wednesday
A day with the warmest title usually has a great shot at this title BUT when you add sunshine to it as well... DONE! This is the day that will leave a smile on your face. February 9th we hit 67° on a Tuesday. I remember that day well because it was such a nice change. Get ready for that feeling again.
The Coolest Day: Friday
Friday will start off wet with widespread rain and the sunshine will be lacking heading into the weekend. This will be the bottom of the temperature trend where the upper 40's are forecasted. Scattered rain is also possible each day this weekend too. Saturday will be close to 50 like Sunday was but Friday has the best chance for what's called cold air damming to park itself in the area.
