CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Well, you've probably put the jackets and coats away by now, but you'll need them tomorrow.
Temperatures will take a tumble tomorrow, feeling more like late February, early March. High temperatures will occur just after midnight, falling into the upper 50s to around 50° by the afternoon. There could be some spots in the upper 40s!
But, why so chilly? Thank a cool high-pressure system building in from the northwest, bringing with it northeasterly winds, which drags down the cooler air to the north.
In addition, an area of low pressure will also track just south of the region, increasing our rain chances tomorrow. So, the rain and clouds will make it an overall raw day.
Just in case you're wondering, the average temperature for mid-May is 79°. The good news? We'll climb back to average by the weekend with highs in the middle to upper 70s.
