CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte Hornets honored their longtime play-by-play announcer Steve Martin during the team's 2017-2018 regular season home finale Sunday afternoon.

Martin was honored during the Hornets' game against the Indiana Pacers as the team, led by his broadcast partner and former Charlotte Hornet Dell Curry, presented Martin with a commemorative jersey. The jersey had broadcaster's last name on it with the number 30 in the back to celebrate the number of seasons he called NBA games in Charlotte.

Martin announced his plans to retire back in February. Martin has been the voice of NBA basketball in Charlotte since the Hornets' inaugural season in 1988. Martin has called both Hornets and Bobcats games as their play-by-play announcer on either television or radio.
