CHESTER, S.C. – Police in Chester arrested a man in connection with the shooting death of a woman over the weekend.
According to Chester Police, officers responded to a reported shooting in the 100 block of Pine Street around 4:45 Sunday afternoon. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Keera Nicole Young suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital where she later died due to her injuries.
Detectives at the scene arrested 22-year-old Ja’Mario Peay. After interviewing with police, he was charged with manslaughter and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. SLED assisted Chester Police during the investigation.
