Seven charged in Union County drug sting

Seven people were arrested after two major drug busts in Union County this week.

UNION COUNTY, N.C. – Seven people were arrested on drug charges following the execution of a search warrant and a traffic stop in Union County this week.

According to the Union County Sheriff’s Office, drug investigators received several complaints from citizens about the “Farm House” on Old Pageland-Monroe Road. After gathering more information from officers and citizens, detectives obtained a search warrant for the property.

While executing the warrant, detectives found heroin, methamphetamine and Alprazolam in the home. Following the seizure of these drugs, deputies arrested five people.

Damon Reginald Patterson

Damon Reginald Patterson, 42, of Matthews was charged with four counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of second-degree kidnapping, felony possession of methamphetamine, and simple possession of a Schedule II substance.

Kimberly Devine Whitworth

Kimberly Devine Whitworth, 44, of Wingate, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule II and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Shannon Ashley Moss

Shannon Ashley Moss, 27, of Fort Mill, is facing charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, simple possession of a Schedule VI substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Michael Patrick Westmoreland

Michael Patrick Westmoreland, 52, of Monroe, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jessican Ann Winfield

Jessica Ann Winfield, 23, was charged with failure to appear.

On Tuesday, narcotics detectives conducted an interdiction stop of a car in the Hemby Bridge area.

During this stop, investigators seized more than 10 grams of cocaine, 100 grams of marijuana and two handguns. Two people were arrested and charged in connection with this stop.

Joshua David Griffin

Joshua David Griffin, 20, of Mint Hill, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony maintaining a vehicle, possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and several driving offenses.

Bailey Marie Todd

Bailey Marie Todd, 20, of Matthews, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
