CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police arrested a 52-year-old man Friday who ran a children's summer camp for taking indecent liberties with a child.
Officials said the parents of a female victim came forward on February 12 saying an incident occurred between their daughter and Ricardo Mata. The parents told authorities Mata had sexually assaulted their daughter, who was 6-years-old at the time of the assault, when she attended his 2017 summer camp called "Play Spanish".
The camp was located at 1000 E Morehead Street.
Authorities launched an investigation and gathered evidence to obtain Mata's arrest. He was arrested Friday and charged with indecent liberties with a minor-lewd and lascivious.
