Massive fire destroys Jeep in Huntersville

Firefighters got the fire under control before the flames could spread to any other nearby vehicles.

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A Jeep Wrangler was destroyed by a massive fire in Huntersville on Wednesday morning, firefighters said. 

The Huntersville Fire Department responded to a reported car fire in the parking lot of Batteries Plus just off Gilead Road and  Rosedale Hill Avenue around 11 a.m. When emergency crews arrived, they found a Jeep Wrangler fully engulfed with fire next to the store.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire quickly and nobody was hurt, officials said. The cause of the fire is unclear at this time. The fire department posted multiple photos of the Jeep during and after the fire, showing the charred remains left once the flames were extinguished.
