Providence HS food drive video goes viral

The video is reaching tens of thousands of people, including a rising country star.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Students at a local high school busted their best rhymes in a video aimed to help end hunger.

The kids from Providence High School created a music video called "CANZ 7.0." It's all to help them with the Carolinas Student Hunger Drive.

The video is reaching tens of thousands of people, including a rising country star.

Singer Denny Strickland was named by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of 10 new country artists you need to know. He saw their video and it appears he's impressed. He posted on Facebook that proceeds from a show he's doing this Saturday at Coyote Joe's will go to them.

The videos are a seven-year tradition at Providence High. Money and food raised will go to Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.
