MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – A 42-year-old South Carolina woman is asking for the internet’s help finding her birth parents.
Kerry Kurtz Tucker was born in Myrtle Beach on January 27, 1976. About three weeks later, she was adopted by a couple in Alexandria, Virginia. In a Facebook post, Tucker said she has had a wonderful life with her adopted family, but wants to learn about her birth family.
“I have had a wonderful life with my adopted family,” she wrote. “My parents have passed away and I would like to learn about my birth family.”
According to WMBF, Tucker’s adoption was closed and private, which means everything she’s tried so far to find her birth family has been unsuccessful.
“South Carolina law makes it really hard to open any adoption records, so my case has been closed in family court,” Tucker said.
Tucker posted on Facebook that she has completed an Ancestry DNA kit in the hopes that she will learn more about her birth parents.
