Panthers coach Matt Rhule says he wants quarterback Sam Darnold to be more mobile in the pocket and make plays on the move.
That’s different than playing with the Jets, where he was considered more of a drop-back, pocket passer.
Rhule said the Panthers are more of a “move up-in-the-pocket, slide-in-the-pocket, throw-in-rhythm type of a team,” which he believes will be a great fit for Darnold once he learns the offensive playbook.
