McDonald's donates $500,000 for Hurricane Florence relief and recovery efforts

"The hearts and minds of the entire McDonald's U.S. system are focused on everyone impacted by Hurricane Florence," said McDonald's U.S. President Chris Kempczinski. "We stand ready to help all of those affected by the devastation as they recover and rebuild in the coming weeks."

In response to the damage left by Hurricane Florence, McDonald's Corporation has pledged $500,000 to the American Red Cross in support of the immediate local relief and recovery efforts for communities, families and individuals impacted by the storm.

“The hearts and minds of the entire McDonald’s U.S. system are focused on everyone impacted by Hurricane Florence," said McDonald's U.S. President Chris Kempczinski. "We stand ready to help all of those affected by the devastation as they recover and rebuild in the coming weeks."

While some McDonald's restaurants remain closed at this time, locations continue to open as conditions allow. Additionally, several owner/operators across the affected area are working to feed first responders, for free, as they continue to serve their communities.

"As members of the communities we serve, we are experiencing first-hand the effects of Hurricane Florence alongside our employees, customers and partners,” said Wade Dixon, President, Dixon Foods Group, Inc. and McDonald’s franchise partner in North Carolina. “We are working to reopen restaurants as soon as possible in an effort to serve our communities and will continue to do what we can to aid in the ongoing relief efforts on the ground.”
