Homicide investigation underway near South End, CMPD says

According to police, the incident happened on Brookhill Road right off South Tryon and Remount Road.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a death Friday just outside of South End. 

According to police, the incident happened on Brookhill Road right off South Tryon and Remount Road. Police said shortly after 11:30 a.m., their officers received a 911 call where the caller stated they thought they saw a body near a home on Brookhill Road. 

The victim in the case has been identified as Javarrus Jeter, 23.

Police confirmed they consulted with the Mecklenburg County Examiner's Office on Saturday, May 14, and officially deemed the case a homicide. 

Anyone with information regarding this death investigation is asked to contact CMPD.
