Coroners identify man shot, killed in Rock Hill

Deputies in York County have arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting in Rock Hill.

YORK COUNTY, S.C. – Deputies in York County have arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting in Rock Hill.

Just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies responded to a reported shooting at the intersection of Highway 5 and Adnah Church Road after a South Carolina state trooper found a 23-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, later identified by coroners as Mardarius Bailey, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Detectives identified 19-year-old Tyler Montgomery as a suspect in the shooting and subsequently charged him with murder. Investigators are working to determine if a second suspect was involved in the shooting. Montgomery was taken into custody and is being held in the York County Detention Center.
