Chris Mulcahy is the Morning Traffic Anchor and Midday Meteorologist for WCNC Charlotte. He has wanted to be the weatherman since he was 6 years old! The first book, he checked out of the library was “Thunderstorms for Kids."

Chris and his wife Kimmie, love it here in Charlotte and say they have found their forever home! Especially since their son is now a Charlotte Native, born in 2022!

The Mulcahy's have two fur babies named Romeo and Juliette. Both are pit bulls that love to cuddle and love their new playmate.

Chris graduated from Florida State University. Started his career in Sioux City, Iowa for a couple of epic tornado and flood seasons. He then worked for WRGT/WKEF in Dayton, Ohio, most of the time as the Morning Meteorologist and would produce feature stories for the morning show.

Chris spent two years at WJRT in Flint, Michigan, as the noon and 4 p.m. Meteorologist where he won an AP Award for “Best Weather Forecast." More recently, Chris has won the Mid-South Emmy for Weather back to back years, including one for the Weather IQ segments in 2023.

In his spare time, Chris loves writing songs and rhyming Children’s books. He has one published called “Have You Ever Heard of a Dweazle!?”. He has a lot more to publish hopefully soon!

Chris’ favorite thing to do is entertain people. If he can make you smile or laugh, it has been a successful day! He hopes to bring that smile to you every morning and afternoon while he is on air or if he ever sees you around the Charlotte area!

Trust is very important for Chris, and he hopes to gain your trust as your morning traffic anchor and #YOURWEATHERMAN.
