CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Destiny Richards is a morning reporter for WCNC Charlotte.
She is originally from Grand Prairie, Texas, and graduated from the University of North Texas in 2016.
Destiny got her start in the news business in 2017 as a photojournalist and multimedia journalist at KFDA NewsChannel10 in Amarillo, Texas.
In January 2020, she joined the morning show team at KXLY 4 News Now in Spokane, Washington. She spent nearly four years there – covering education, health and community stories during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as reporting live on wildfires, snowstorms and windstorms in the Inland Northwest.
Destiny joined WCNC Charlotte in August 2023. She loves being on a morning show because of the variety of topics she gets to cover and giving important information live to viewers.
Destiny is also happy to be closer to her family in the south and to continue reporting before the sun rises.
