Eugene Robinson grew up in Hartford, Connecticut, the youngest of four children. His love for academics and sports allowed him to excel in high school.

He entered Colgate University in 1981 and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. As a walk on to the Red Raider football program, he thrived and was selected as an undrafted free agent in 1985 to the Seattle Seahawks.

He played 16 years in the National Football League. He has played in three Super Bowls and won one in 1996. He has also played in three Pro Bowls. He is currently ranked 12th on the all-time interception list with 57. He has 15 force fumbles, 22 fumble recoveries, 7.5 sacks and over 1,450 tackles.

Eugene lives in Charlotte with his wife Gia, and they have been married for 29 years. He has two adult children, Brittany and Brandon. He currently works as a Broadcast Analyst for the Carolina Panthers and as a high school football, wrestling and track coach at Charlotte Christian High School.

He is a member of the NFLPA alumni association in Charlotte. He first came to Christ on June 10, 1984, and does some preaching and motivational speaking to charities, churches and other civic organizations throughout the Carolinas.
