CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Jesse Pierre is a multi-skilled journalist for WCNC in Charlotte. She is excited to call the Queen City home and to connect with local Charlotteans.

Jesse comes from northwest Arkansas where she worked as an early morning multimedia journalist for KNWA/FOX24 News. Prior to that, she worked in Los Angeles, California, as a news writer at KTLA5 and as a reporter at Torrance CitiCABLE.

Jesse got into the news industry because she genuinely cares about people and their stories. Jesse wants the people she interviews to know they matter and know their concerns are heard. She will do her best to deliver on every story because building trust with the community is very important to her. It's also very important to her to showcase diverse voices to represent the communities that watch our news.

Jesse is Haitian, Canadian and grew up in New York state. She is fluent in French, Haitian Creole and English. She graduated from SUNY Albany with a bachelor’s degree in economics. Soon after graduation, Jesse made the big move to California. That’s where her journey took her into journalism. She fell in love with news reporting and storytelling. There, she obtained a certificate in journalism at UCLA.

In her free time, Jesse enjoys time with family, friends and traveling. She is also passionate about cooking and loves trying new restaurants.
