CHARLOTTE, N.C. — KJ Jacobs is a meteorologist at WCNC Charlotte. He's excited to return to the Carolinas after working in Norfolk, Virginia. He previously worked in Myrtle Beach and Huntsville, Alabama, where he spent some time covering severe storms as a field reporter.
KJ joins WCNC Charlotte's weather team with nearly a decade of severe, tropical and winter weather experience.
He is a graduate of University of South Carolina with a degree in Journalism, and his meteorology degree is from Mississippi State University.
He is passionate about education, especially STEM. During the start of the pandemic, KJ created a virtual STEM segment to highlight students with a passion for science. He is thrilled to work on science experiments with students in the Queen City.
KJ is excited to have his family nearby in South Carolina, particularly his six nieces and nephews.
Trust is important to KJ because he shares information that people use to make lifesaving decisions.
