This morning New Hope had an exciting announcement!  New Hope is expanding their Autism program with a $1 million dollar renovation.  Joining us with more was New Hope's COO, Matt Simon and their Program Director Kim Hudson.

New Hope Treatment Centers is eager and enthusiastic to announce a much-anticipated and long-awaited renovation and expansion of its facility in Rock Hill.  The project represents a nearly $1 million dollar investment in a full-scale LEAP upgrade. The corner of the building that is currently New Choices/LEAP will be transformed into one 20-bed community for males on the autism spectrum.  At New Hope, the drive is simple: change the world, one kid at a time, through the healing power of relationships. What is the New Hope difference? Our people show up every day, passionate about changing young people’s lives.

Since their opening in 1987, New Hope Treatment Centers has been a welcoming place for young people in moments of crisis. New Hope programs have played a role in countless success stories, thanks to their relational approach to behavioral care.

They get to know kids on an individual level, and work with them and their families toward a brighter next chapter.  “We are so excited about the expansion” says Hudson.   The need for this service is greater than ever and New Hope is stepping in and stepping up to meet it. This remodeling will not impact the current 10 residents on LEAP. The project will be completed in phases, so that their treatment is not interrupted. The doors will officially open for the 20 total youth in March 2024.  “We have seen the growing need for this service and decided to do something about it,” says Simon. He adds “the waitlist for this program is simply unacceptable to us. This will help our autism population and give them a sense of self awareness and growth and interaction with each other” says Hudson.  She adds “the three-month process will feature a brand-new shower and bathroom area, new floors, new furniture, new ceiling structures in the hallway and removal of the walls that currently separate the two communities and opening that space including the dayroom. The renovation also allows for us to bring in much needed technology with a new computer room and additionally two classrooms, therapist offices and a staff breakroom in the community. I am so pumped for this,” says Simon.  He continues  “we can’t wait for everyone to see it and most of all, I can’t wait for the families that have been waiting desperately for hope, to finally receive it.”  The new space will allow New Hope to serve twice the amount of Autistic youth this spring.  For more information visit www.newhopetreatment.com
