CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Chef Jennifer Brulé is set to make her Food Network debut when she competes on the premiere of a new Food Network Show: The Ultimate Thanksgiving Challenge.
The show will debut just in time for the holiday season.
Chef Jennifer Brulé will be one of six chefs from around the country competing on the show for a $25,000 grand prize and bragging rights.
Chef Jenny told NBC Charlotte that the Food Network production company called her back in July to see if she wanted to compete on their newest cooking competition show.
"I obviously said yes," Chef Jenny said. "The tryouts were all done via Skype with the production company."
Chef Jenny said it took just 10 days for the Food Network to pick her as a contestant.
Chef Jenny is a regular morning show chef for NBC Charlotte and Charlotte Today. She is is the owner of Davidson Ice House.
By August, Chef Jenny flew to Los Angeles to film The Ultimate Thanksgiving Challenge. From start to finish the whole production took about a week.
The show's premise focuses on the six chefs competing to create the ultimate Thanksgiving dishes.
"Host Giada De Laurentiis will put the creative chefs to the test, challenging them to prepare the most delicious and innovative turkeys, side dishes and desserts to ever hit a dining room table," the Food Network said on their website.
Chef Jenny said she is really grateful for the chance to compete on the Food Network but also said the theme of the show was extra special for her and her family.
"The show was so special because it was all about Thanksgiving," Chef Jenny said. "I can trace my ancestors back to Thanksgiving so that was a huge deal for my family."
Chef Jenny told NBC Charlotte that throughout the filming of the show, she has made some lifelong friends with her competitors.
"I instantly became great friends with the other competitors," Chef Jenny said. "We still text every day and adore each other."
Chef Jenny said while the show was very competitive, she and the other chefs really wanted the best for each other.
"It was just a really great experience," Chef Jenny said.
The Ultimate Thanksgiving Challenge premieres on Sunday, November 3 at 9 p.m. EST on the Food Network. Chef Jenny will appear on four reoccurring episodes.
