Uber testing flight bookings in the United Kingdom

One app to book a flight and get a ride to and from the airport? Uber is testing it out.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Ride-hailing app Uber has become a go-to for getting from point A to point B, and now it's upping its game.

You can now book flights on the app, but only in the United Kingdom for the moment.

It's not just flights -- The Financial Times reports that customers can book a complete journey across multiple forms of transportation. Uber is already offering bookings for train and bus tickets there.

The idea is when a customer books a flight on the app, they'll have the benefit of getting discounted rides to the airport.

The Financial Times reports the move is part of the San Francisco-based company's push to become a travel “super app.”

While the UK is serving as a testing ground for the efforts, if all goes well, who knows? We just might be able to someday book flights on the Uber app right here in the United States.
