LANCASTER, S.C. — A Lancaster County 19-year-old was arrested Wednesday after deputies said he shot two people at a party last weekend.

Lancaster County deputies were called to In The Kut on Charlotte Highway a little before 1 a.m. Sunday. The building was rented for an "after prom party" called Slime Fest, which was promoted on Facebook.

Deputies said they believe at least 100 people were at the venue for the party. When deputies got to the scene, people were running from the building and leaving in cars. A 19-year-old was grazed by a bullet on his back. A short while later, a 22-year-old woman was taken to the hospital after she was shot in the face. Both are expected to be OK.

Detectives learned that a fight inside the venue spilled into the parking lot and that's where the shooting happened. Two cars were shot and three nearby businesses were hit by gunfire. Deputies recovered a pistol from inside the building and believe at least two guns were fired during the incident.

Jairus Jikee Vinson, 19, was identified by detectives as a suspect in the case. During the arrest, deputies said they found items that led to a search warrant of Vinson's home for narcotics. Vinson was charged with attempted murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied building and carrying a pistol.

He was also charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and two counts of possession with intent to distribute cocaine within proximity of a park. He is being held in the Lancaster County jail without bond.
