CMPD identifies man shot to death in south Charlotte

CMPD is investigating after a man was shot multiple times in south Charlotte late Monday.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating after a man was found shot and killed in south Charlotte. 

CMPD was called to a reported shooting in the 7100 block of South Boulevard near the intersection with East Arrowood Road a few minutes before 11 p.m. Monday. When officers got to the scene, they found a man, identified as 21-year-old Juforest Ishaih Hicks, who had been shot multiple times.

Officers learned that the shooting happened about a half-mile away on Axminster Court and that Hicks was taken to a QuikTrip store on South Boulevard and called 911. According to the 911 call, Hicks was shot in the head and in the back. He was taken to a Charlotte hospital where he was pronounced dead early Tuesday morning. 

CMPD has not released any suspect information or announced any arrests. Anyone with information about this shooting or any other crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
