CMPD investigating string of east Charlotte home invasions, robberies

Three homes in east Charlotte were broken into over the course of about two hours early Monday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Three homes in east Charlotte were broken into over the course of about two hours early Monday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said. 

The first reported home invasion happened at the Delta Crossing Apartments off East W.T. Harris Boulevard around 1:15 a.m. Police said the suspect forced his way into an apartment. When a man who lived inside confronted the suspect, police say he ran from the scene. No injuries were reported during this incident. 

About 20 minutes later, CMPD responded to a home invasion and robbery about a half-mile away on Wallace Glen Drive. Officers said a group of four people entered a home and robbed three people at gunpoint. No injuries were reported during this incident. 

A little before 3:30, CMPD was called to an assault on Parkland Circle. According to police, five suspects forced their way into an apartment and robbed the two people inside at gunpoint. Both victims were pistol whipped by one of the suspects before they ran from the scene. 

CMPD has not released any suspect information and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
