11 charged in Gastonia prostitution sting

Eleven women were arrested during an overnight prostitution sting in Gastonia, police say.

GASTONIA, N.C. – Eleven women were arrested during an overnight prostitution sting in Gastonia, police say.

According to Gastonia Police Public Information Officer Donna Lahser, detectives targeted North Highland Street, West Airline Avenue, South Weldon Street, and South King Street during the operation.

Undercover officers were used, as well as officers from Shelby.

The 11 women arrested were as follows:

Shelley Cole Bumgardner, 33, of Gastonia: Felony prostitution

Margaret Furr Cook, 45, of Mount Holly: Misdemeanor soliciting prostitution

Shakishia Crystal Ellis, 26, of Gastonia: Misdemeanor soliciting prostitution

Ruby Ann Ferguson, 60, of Gastonia: Misdemeanor soliciting prostitution

Susan Marie Jacobs, 37, of Gastonia: Misdemeanor soliciting prostitution

Lisa Murdock, 36, of Gastonia: Felony soliciting prostitution

Jeannie Rena Smith, 49, of Gastonia: Misdemeanor soliciting prostitution

Connie Kay Quinn, 46, of Gastonia: Felony prostitution

Amber Dawn Ragan, 23, of Gastonia: Misdemeanor soliciting prostitution

Sharon Rose Stamey, 39, of Gastonia: Misdemeanor soliciting prostitution

Tilissa Michelle Wilkins, 39, of Gastonia: Misdemeanor soliciting prostitution
