Shooting in east Charlotte leaves person wounded, Medic says

As of now, CMPD hasn't shared details.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Medic reports a person is in the hospital after a shooting in east Charlotte unfolded Saturday afternoon.

The agency said around 3:30 p.m. one patient was transported from Wilora Lake Road near North Sharon Amity Road for treatment of life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound. The victim was later identified as 28-year-old Jose Perez-Perez. Further details about Perez's condition were not immediately available.

As of publication, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has not released any details about what led up to the shooting.
