Man hurt in east Charlotte shooting, CMPD says

The victim told police he was shot after walking outside his home late Tuesday night. No arrests have been made.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was hurt in a shooting in east Charlotte late Tuesday night, police said. 

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a reported armed robbery along Wembley Drive, near Briar Creek Road and Green Oaks Lane, around 10:15 p.m. on May 21. When officers arrived, they found a person who had been shot.

The victim told CMPD officers he was shot when he walked outside his home. The man was taken to Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, according to Medic. The victim told detectives he did not see who shot him or the direction the shots came from. 

No arrests have been made and CMPD hasn't released any suspect information. Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
