CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. -- A former teacher at a Cleveland County high school is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.
The Cleveland County Sheriff's Office charged 25-year-old Emma Costner with two felony counts of sex acts with a student. Costner, a former teacher at Crest High School, turned herself into authorities Wednesday morning.
Costner's charges stem from an investigation into "an alleged inappropriate relationship between [Costner], who was a teacher at the time, and a Crest High School student," according to deputies.
Costner was issued a $10,000 secured bond. A court date has not been posted; however, if she remains in jail, Costner could have her first appearance Thursday morning.
