Gastonia police asking for suspect identification

The Gastonia Police Department is asking for help identifying a suspect wanted for a daytime theft.

GASTONIA, N.C. — A suspect is wanted for a robbery in Rankin Lake Park, the Gastonia Police Department announced on Tuesday.

The suspect stole a handgun and credit cards from the victim’s shoulder bag, according to investigators.

Police released two still pictures of the suspect. In one photo, you can see the man walking. In another photo, you see him inside a parked car.

Rankin Lake Park is located north of the interchange with Interstate 85 and U.S. 321.

If you recognize the suspect, police ask that you call Crime Stoppers at 704-861-8000. You may be eligible for a cash reward.
